BIOQuebec will outline and will be presenting six awards for exceptional achievements in the following categories: |
Entrepreneurship
Biotechnology-Biopharmaceutical |

This award recognizes a company that has achieved outstanding
growth results due to the leadership of its management
team.
The company has to meet the following criteria:
- is maintaining a superior rate of growth that is borne
out by the personnel it recruits and by the sum of its
investments;
- is led by business executives who are recognized for
their growth-oriented management style and leadership;
- has achieved encouraging results thanks to the effective
management of its alliances, its financial capabilities
and its research teams;
- is competitive internationally in its line of business
and/or has achieved noteworthy success outside of the
Province of Quebec, owing to the company's global strategic
approach.

This award recognizes a company in the health technologies
industry that has achieved outstanding growth results due
to the leadership of its management team.

it recruits and by the sum of its investments;
- is led by business executives who are recognized for
their growth-oriented management style and leadership;
- has achieved encouraging results thanks to the effective
management of its alliances, its financial capabilities
and its research teams;
- is competitive in its line of business and/or has achieved
noteworthy success outside of the Province of Quebec,
owing to the company's global strategic approach.

This award will be given to a company and its founding
officers who have successfully implemented a technology
transfer process and who meet the following criteria:
The company has to meet the following criteria:
- is characterized by the innovative nature of its
technology;
- is experiencing commercial success, or is showing
considerable potential that is borne out by its licensing
agreements or alliances;
- is characterized by its extensive managerial, financial
and scientific expertise;
- their transferred technology is derived from a Canadian
government or university.
2006 Recipient: RESONANT MEDICAL

Innovation |

This award recognizes a company with a proven innovation
in the life sciences industry.
The company has to meet the following criteria:
- carries out a significant part of its innovative pursuits,
as well as its research and development activities there;
- has a remarkable capacity for innovation that is borne
out by tangible achievements;
- has successfully formulated an innovation or made a
discovery that has increasedd the influence of Quebec's
biotechnology sector or health technology industry.

This award recognizes a company or a person who has made a significant impact on the potential use of genomics in the healthcare system. In the past year, the winner will have demonstrated vision and leadership in the world of business, research or healthcare.
The company has to meet the following criteria:
- Is operating in the industry of genomic and proteomic technologies;
- Has taken a major step leading to the integration of genomic technologies in the healthcare system;
- Has achieved encouraging results in specific technology or knowledge transfer regarding genomics or proteomics.
